Tips for Effective Seaching

Our search engine searches for all the given words and displays a matching results page for any of the search words found (unless you utilize boolean search modifiers). The minimum number of characters for a valid search word is 4.

Here are some examples of valid boolean search terminology:
apple banana
find pages that contain at least one of these words.
+apple +banana
find pages that contain both words.
+apple macintosh
word "apple", but rank it higher if it also contains "macintosh".
+apple -macintosh
word "apple" but NOT "macintosh" as the "-" minus sign indicates that "macintosh" is a word, that if present, prevents the search engine from returning ANY result for that page.
+apple +(>pie <strudel)
"apple" and "pie", or "apple" and "strudel" (in any order), but rank "apple pie" higher than "apple strudel".
apple*
"apple", "apples", "applesauce", and "applet". The wildcard character "*" or asterisk represents zero or more characters and can only be used at the end of a search word!
"some words"
find pages that contain the exact phrase some words(for example, pages that contain "some words of wisdom" but not "some noise words").
A search word which is a stopword will not be searched on or marked in the results.Besides the user defined stopwords there might be stopwords pre-defined by the administrator.Stopwords the administrator has defined are:
""
